  6. This is a demo version of PDM INTERNET Tools(tm). The demo database
  7. within this package only contains a structure file. In order to use this
  8. demo it must be opened with a pre-installed copy of 4th Dimension
  9. (Runtime or Development). A datafile has not been supplied with the
  10. structure and the first time you open the database you will be requested
  11. to create a new one.

  13. The externals installed as part of this demonstration are copy protected
  14. so as to only work with the supplied database structure. Please note
  15. that the externals cannot be used outside of this database. Removing
  16. them from the database or modifying the structure of the database will
  17. disable the use of the demo. The good news is that you can modify the
  18. procedures and layouts should you wish to experiment. If you wish to
  19. compile the database you must rename the compiled version of the demo to
  20. "PITdemo". If the name of the demo database is changed, the database
  21. will not launch.

  23. In order for this demo to work properly you must have the following:

  25.  - 4th Dimension installed, appropriate for your platform
  26.        - MacTCP, Open Transport or Winsock
  27.        - Connection to a TCP/IP network
  28.        - Access to one or more of the following servers:
  29.       - POP3
  30.       - SMTP
  31.       - FTP
  32.       - NTP
  33.       - Finger
  34.       - WWW
  35.         
  36. Please note that certain areas of this demo will not work properly if you
  37. do not have the proper access or setup of the above.
